The Galloway Masterpiece Six was the first engine that we bought. It was made in Waterloo, Iowa originally and came from a Galloway collector in southern Missouri. The engine had been repainted, but did not have any pin striping or the lettering on the sides of the water hopper. We repainted the engine to a more correct color and added the striping. It took quite a while to get it just right. I was able to get a tracing from another collector and had the decal made by a sign shop. It is a high quality transfer that looks great and matches the original printing very well. The engine is resting on a new cart that matches her style much better. We learned a lot from this first engine and it holds a special place for us. Over time, we have found a very original Galloway cream separator and even a Galloway thimble as well as a few original brochures and letters from William Galloway himself!
